The Challenge The parent company was preparing to shut down a research facility because it was a non core facility.

The Solution Core competencies of the team were identified and a business plan developed around these elements. In order to avoid being shut down, financing was secured from the State. In parallel, the team used promising applications to target potential clients. 

The Benefit A new business model was created whereby investors would fund the research in exchange for the right to use the intellectual property in commercial applications.

The Challenge A company needed to divest unionized manufacturing facilities in a limited time frame while maintaining continuity of supply.

The Solution The assets were carved out and potential contract manufacturers identified. An auction process for the ten thousand plus employee facilities was conducted.  The plan was to have the contract manufacturer acquire the assets, assume the liabilities linked to the assets, and enter into a supplier agreement with the seller.   

The Benefit A cost effective supply chain was created which ensured availability of finished goods and reduced working capital needs.

Analysis of Acquisition opportunity
The Challenge The company needed to provide an analysis of an acquisition opportunity within five days to the Board of Directors.

The Solution A comprehensive analysis was conducted to detail the value range, structure, anticipated timing and payment terms. Based upon this information, the Board allowed the executives to make an offer for the potential target.

The Benefit The executives were able to quickly react to a strategic opportunity that presented itself.
